Where hiring moved
Year-on-year change in job postings, September 2026

The demand is in AI. The numbers show it.
Big IT firms are hiring fewer general freshers. Companies are hiring for AI skills, and the gap between what they want and what colleges teach is where this program sits.
More AI/ML job postings than a year ago, across all sectors in India.
Naukri JobSpeak, Sep 2026Growth in fresher AI/ML hiring, while hiring for all freshers grew just 1%.
Naukri JobSpeak, Sep 2026AI-linked roles in India: 2.9 lakh in 2025, projected 3.8 lakh in 2026 (+32%).

World Economic Forum, Future of Jobs Report 2025Entry-level AI/ML salaries are reported to start around ₹5 lakh a year and rise with experience (Business Today, Jan 2026). Actual pay depends on the employer, role and your skills.
What employers ask for, and where you learn it
AI job descriptions in 2026 list the same few skills again and again. Each one is a module in the program, with a project you can show.
Based on our review of 2026 AI-role job descriptions. Employers also increasingly hire for demonstrable skills and real projects over degrees.

Tools and technologies you use
You build what businesses actually buy
Here is the kind of system you build in Months 2 and 3: a customer messages on WhatsApp, an AI agent answers, records the lead and alerts the owner. Every step is logged and testable.
10:02:11 tool_call calendar.check("10:00")
10:02:12 result slot_free = true
10:02:12 approval not needed (low risk)
10:02:13 tool_call calendar.book("10:00")
10:02:13 tool_call crm.save_lead(name, phone)
10:02:14 tool_call notify.owner(lead_id)
10:02:14 message_out "Booked for 10 am. See you then!"
10:02:14 done 2.9s, cost logged
Months 4 to 6: work on real projects at Botkovai
Botkovai is our AI agent company. Interns build agents and automation on approved projects, reviewed by a senior engineer, and earn a stipend during the internship.
Monthly stipend range
Rises as your responsibility grows. Reviewed every month.
What interns do
- Create and test AI agents with tool calling and approved integrations
- Build Python backend features and API integrations
- Work with databases, CRM workflows and automation tools
- Add logging, human approval and failure handling to agents
- Join code reviews, a weekly 2-hour mentor clinic and monthly demo days
How you get selected
The selection gate is in week 13. It looks at project completion, code quality, debugging, communication and attendance. If a Botkovai internship can't be offered, we arrange an equivalent supervised project on the same schedule and we won't call it a Botkovai internship.
How this differs from a certificate-only course
| What matters | Typical certificate-only course | Appin AI Agent & Automation Engineer |
|---|---|---|
| Hands-on projects | A few guided exercises | 7 portfolio projects and a deployed capstone |
| Real client-style work | Rarely | Months 4 to 6 on approved Botkovai projects |
| Stipend | Usually none | Stipend during the internship, confirmed in writing |
| Agents, RAG, MCP, WhatsApp, CRM | Often theory or demos only | Built, tested, logged and deployed |
| Interview support | Resume tips at best | Mock interviews, GitHub and LinkedIn polish, application support from Month 5 |
| Mentoring | Large batches | Batches of 20, weekly mentor clinics and a scorecard at every stage |
Where it can take you
The program prepares you for entry-level roles such as:
The track builds toward Forward Deployed Engineer roles: engineers who work directly with customers to deliver working solutions. Outcomes depend on your performance, employer requirements and available opportunities.
How you are assessed
Complete the program with 70% overall and a successful capstone demo.

- Mock interviews and application support
- GitHub and LinkedIn portfolio polish
- Completion and internship certificates*
*Completion certificate needs 70% overall and a successful capstone demo. Internship letter is given on completing the internship.
Who can apply
Graduates, final-year students, diploma holders and career switchers with strong logic and a willingness to practise 2 to 3 hours a day. No prior coding is needed. Not from a computer science background? You can still join if you clear the aptitude test and finish the Week 0 pack.
Questions before you apply
Is the workshop really free?
Yes. Attending costs nothing. If you like it, a counsellor explains the course fee and payment options. You decide after you've seen the training.
Is the stipend guaranteed for every student?
No. The stipend applies to students selected at the Month 3 gate, and the amount depends on role and performance. It is confirmed in writing before the internship starts. If a Botkovai internship can't be offered, an equivalent supervised project is arranged instead.
Is placement guaranteed?
No program can honestly guarantee a job. You get the skills, a deployed portfolio, three months of project experience, mock interviews and application support. Outcomes depend on your performance and available opportunities.
I'm not from a computer science background. Can I join?
Yes, if you clear the aptitude test and interview and complete the Week 0 Foundation Pack. The program starts from Python basics.
If AI can write code, why learn to code?
Employers want people who can direct AI tools, check their output, connect agents to real systems and deploy them safely. Module 1 teaches AI-assisted coding from day one, with the habits that make it reliable.
How much time do I need outside class?
About 2 to 3 hours of daily practice in Months 1 to 3. The internship is supervised project work, with hours confirmed in writing.
What do I receive at the end?
A completion certificate (70% overall and a successful capstone demo), an internship letter for completed internships, a GitHub portfolio, a deployed capstone and reviewer feedback.
What are the batch timings and mode of classes?
Classes are in person at Appin Technology, Coimbatore. Batch timings are confirmed at enrolment, and you can ask your counsellor about your schedule.
