IT Recruitment
Talent Acquisition Track
From reading a JD to closing a joining. Sourcing, Boolean/X-Ray search, resume screening, technical fundamentals recruiters actually need, candidate communication, ATS/CRM tools, recruitment metrics, and AI-assisted recruiting — taught as one end-to-end hiring workflow, not isolated topics. Students graduate able to run a full requisition from intake call to candidate joining.
Foundations
Module 1–3Introduction to IT Recruitment
What IT recruitment is and how it differs from general HR recruitment. The full recruitment lifecycle from requisition to joining. Domestic vs US IT recruitment shifts and expectations. Core recruitment terminology used on every call and email from day one.
Understanding IT Technologies
A working, recruiter-level map of the tech landscape: Frontend, Backend and Full Stack development, Java & Python, .NET & Node.js, SQL & NoSQL, Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Data Analytics & Data Science, AI & Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, DevOps, Software Testing and UI/UX. Enough to hold a real conversation with a hiring manager or a candidate.
Requirement & Job Description Analysis
Understanding client requirements before sourcing a single profile. Reading a JD line by line: must-have vs good-to-have skills, technical keywords, experience and qualification requirements, location, CTC and notice period. Building a requirement checklist that drives every later search.
Candidate Sourcing & Boolean Search
Module 4–5Candidate Sourcing
Sourcing across every channel a working recruiter uses: LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed & Foundit, Google sourcing, employee referrals, passive candidate sourcing, and internal database sourcing. Building and managing a candidate pipeline instead of starting from zero on every requisition.
Boolean & X-Ray Search
Boolean operators — AND, OR, NOT — exact keyword search, brackets and quotation marks, title-based search, skill-based search and location-based search. Google X-Ray search to pull candidate profiles straight out of the search engine. Drilled through practical Boolean exercises on live requirements, not toy examples.
Resume Screening & Technical Knowledge
Module 6–7Resume Screening & Shortlisting
How to read a technical resume the way a hiring manager does. Matching resume against JD, identifying genuinely relevant skills, verifying experience, spotting career gaps, job-hopping and notice period issues, and catching red flags before they cost the client's time. Ends in a defensible shortlist.
Technical Knowledge for Recruiters
Just enough technical depth to screen credibly: programming fundamentals, OOP concepts, database & SQL basics, API basics, Git & GitHub, SDLC, Agile & Scrum, cloud basics, DevOps basics, testing basics and AI/ML basics. Not a coding course — a recruiter's technical fluency toolkit.
Candidate Engagement & Coordination
Module 8–10Candidate Screening & Interview
Initial screening process end to end: recruiter screening questions, basic technical screening, communication skills assessment, salary and notice period discussion, gauging genuine candidate interest, and preparing candidates before they walk into a client interview.
Candidate Communication
Recruitment calling done right: professional introduction, explaining the role clearly, handling candidate objections, and disciplined follow-up. Written channels covered with equal weight — WhatsApp communication and email communication — plus ongoing candidate engagement so pipelines don't go cold.
Interview Coordination
The operational side clients judge recruiters hardest on: interview scheduling, confirmation, reminders, feedback collection, rejection communication done professionally, rescheduling without losing the candidate, offer coordination, and joining follow-up until the candidate is actually on the floor.
Tools, Metrics & AI in Recruitment
Module 11–13ATS, CRM & Recruitment Tools
ATS fundamentals and candidate database management, CRM basics, working inside LinkedIn Recruiter and Naukri Recruiter, and the everyday spreadsheet layer — Google Sheets and Excel for recruitment — plus building recruitment trackers that survive a real requisition load.
Recruitment Metrics & MIS
Reading the recruitment funnel like a business number: Time to Hire, Time to Fill, Cost per Hire, Source of Hire, interview-to-selection ratio, offer-to-joining ratio. Building daily/weekly recruitment reports and a full recruitment MIS a manager can act on.
AI & Modern IT Recruitment
Using ChatGPT for recruiters, AI-assisted sourcing, AI-assisted resume screening, and AI-generated Boolean search strings. JD creation using AI, candidate communication drafted with AI, and where recruitment automation genuinely saves time. Closed with an honest module on AI ethics and responsible use in hiring.
Practical Recruitment Project — Capstone
Module 14One end-to-end recruitment cycle, run exactly the way it happens on the floor — from an incoming IT requirement to a confirmed joining and a finished MIS report.
Placement & Career Preparation
Module 15Getting Job-Ready
IT Recruiter resume preparation and LinkedIn profile optimization built around the capstone project. Recruiter interview questions drilled through mock HR interviews and mock recruiter calls, backed by real recruitment case studies. A practical assessment before graduation, plus an IT Recruiter career roadmap covering progression into Senior Recruiter, Team Lead and Talent Acquisition Manager roles.
